雅思写作是一种综合语言能力的考查，这个能力包括考生对文章结构、内容和语言的把握。除此之外，建议考生还要注意以下几点：
一、时间安排
雅思写作要求考生在一个小时之内完成一篇至少150个单词的说明文或信件（20分钟）和一篇至少250个单词的议论文（40分钟）。考生需合理安排时间。
二、字数
雅思写作字数是有下限的，但没有上限，所以很多考生都有疑问，到底多少单词的文章可以拿到高分。当然这没有绝对的限制，但据统计看来，大多数的高分小作文字数都在180左右，而大作文也在280左右。

图表作文通常会给出特定的时间，考生要根据此时间决定文章的时态。
英文中最常见的格式有2种：齐头式和缩进式，齐头式是每段的首字母都顶格，段与段之间空一行，缩进式要求每段的首字母缩进3到5个字母，一般而言齐头式的更整洁，而且剑桥考官的满分作文也都是齐头式，所以比较推荐齐头式。更多的技巧跟方法可关注北京新东方的雅思7分写作班，针对写作单项的，效果很好。关于字迹，大家把握一个原则：清晰易懂。推荐大家写正楷，因为中国大陆考区都发的是铅笔，所以最好不要写连笔字，在夏天很容易花掉。同时将行间距控制好，女生注意字不能写太小。
